It appears that the shortcodes for blogging by email must be in lowercase. Otherwise it will be treated as text and become the content of post. But somehow WordPress did not mention this in Support page. Check this as sample (I write two shortcodes with the first letter of syntax in uppercase): [Category brainstorm] [Tags [...]
