Indonesia sweetens deal for private power companies: good and clean govt is critical

The government will scrap import duties on equipment needed to build power plants to encourage independent companies to build plants in the second phase of its “fast-track” electricity generating program.

As part of $15.6 billion program, this will certainly encourage independent company to invest on energy supply sector. Still, good and clean governance is the critical issue, especially on future expense. Another critical issue is law enforcement. These are definitely outstanding issues since Soeharto era.
