He walked on top of the cloud and stepped to the edge to see the world below. It was a combination of grey of smog, dark brown of barren land, and thick black of ocean. He had witnessed the world growing old and dying.
People were living in and among the rubble. War and famine spread through out the land. Corrupt officials were king of few – they neglected many other. Women were raped. Children were abandoned, starving, trafficked or be killed. Land were sterile. Ocean were toxic.
People lived in fear. Nightmare was not a dream. It was a real life. Day and night. On the ground and ten feet below the surface.
I wish I did not ask for another one hundred year to live to witness this, he thought.
